With this new innovation from KARCHER DESIGN, a standard handle set can be easily exchanged for a convenient in-handle locking system. KD Basic can be combined with any mortise lock with an 8x8 mm lock follower. Neither the lock nor the lock pocket need to be specially prepared.
The function of the privacy pin technology provides an intuitive and easy to use locking solution.
To lock the door, simply press the pin into the door handle. To leave the room, all you have to do is turn the handle, which simultaneously unlocks the door. If the outside handle is used while the door is locked, the handle can turn freely and does not exert any excess force on the lock or handle components.
On the underside of the outside rose, the KD Basic has a secure emergency release to gain access to the room in an emergency. With just one finger, the emergency release lever can be moved, allowing the door to be unlocked quickly and safely. The KD Basic remains fully functional and can be operated again as usual after an emergency unlocking by pushing the lever back to its original position.
The privacy pin technology convinces with the simple and fast locking of doors without key or bathroom rosettes. The minimalist design reduces the door handles to the essentials.
